Happy Valentine's Day From A Galaxy Far Far Away

In honor of Valentine's Day, I thought I would share a thought about one of my favorite romances in the Star Wars Universe.  That of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade. 

I always enjoyed Luke and Mara's relationship, its the brain child of Timothy Zahn, author of many tremendous Star Wars books and short stories.  It was a complex relationship that started at one extreme and ended at another. 

Luke: "So, before you began impersonating Mara, what was your real hair color?"

Mara: "Farmboy, you’re asking for a beating…"

Whenever Mara would in a playful way, call Luke "farmboy,"  you could sense the love and bond between the two. 

To celebrate Valentine's Day, Suvudu re-published on their website the Timothy Zahn Short Story, "Judge's Call."

by Timothy Zahn The two small, potbellied aliens bowed low in front of Luke Skywalker. “I hear the Jedi and obey,” one of them intoned, his nasal voice hitting three distinct notes at the same time.
“I also hear and obey,” the second said, somewhat less enthusiastically. Bowing again, they backed away.
With a quiet sigh, Mara Jade Skywalker looked at her datapad. These two had been the twenty-ninth and thirtieth complainants since Luke had started this session at sunrise this morning. Thirty complainants down. Five billion to go.
