Star Wars Want: Blu-ray Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars Series

There is a gap in my Star Wars Blu-ray collection that is just screaming to be filled.  We have Blu-ray releases for the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, the Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace special, and each season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, yet one of the most recent Star Wars video releases has yet to get the Blu-ray treatment.

Genndy Tartakovsky's micro-series premiered on the Cartoon Network in 2003 and subsequently saw a two-volume DVD release in 2005.

Currently these DVD's retail on Amazon.com for $38.02 for Volume 1 and $45.94 for Volume.

Transitioning this series to a single Blu-ray disc release simply makes to much sense to be ignored and seems like a simple way to make a few bucks for Lucasfilm.

Volume 1 contains 20 3-minute episodes and has a run time of 69 minutes, while Volume 2 contains 5 12-minute episodes and has a run time of 64 minutes.

I can understand not wanting to confuse kids and parents regarding the current Clone Wars series, but fans should be able to purchase this series without having to go the "used" copy route.

I am sure that many of my fellow fanboys and fangirls would agree, can we have the Tartakovsky series in Blu-ray? Pretty please?

Star Wars Celebration VI Store Announced

StarWars.com recently announced that there will be a CVI exclusive store for convention exclusive merchandise in limited quantities.

The first CVI that will be available is a Sideshow Collectible 1/6th scale Clone Trooper figure, Commander Ganch.

It is interesting that Ganch gets the special treatment, he first appeared in the web-comic, Clone Wars: Act on Instinct.  Ganch's name was developed by Pablo Hidalgo (Soon to be released, Essential Reader's Companion) and design was done by noted artist Tom Hodges.

The Star Wars Celebration Store will premiere Sideshow's 12" figure of Clone Commander Ganch, available in very limited numbers starting the first day of the show, Thursday, August 23rd. 

The exciting one-sixth scale figure boasts a number of exclusive features, including:
*Phase I and II helmets
*Detailed fabric body suit and collar
*Highly detailed full-body armor set
*A variety of interchangeable hands and boots
*BlasTech DC-15A long range blaster rifle
*BlasTech DC-15S blaster carbine
*Two (2) BlasTech DC-17 blaster pistols and holsters
*Armored body with more than thirty points of articulation
*Base with Ganch armor symbol and lower support stand

If I was going to be at CVI I would definitely be in line for this one.  The individualization of the Clones is one of the most interesting things in Star Wars visually and on a story telling basis.

Star Wars Deal of the Day: THX 1138 and TFU II

A couple great deals popped up on the interweb today.

X-Box 360 owning Star Wars fans will want to check out Newegg.com's deal on The Force Unleashed II Collector's Edition which includes the game as well as a Starkiller USB Flashdrive.

SandTroopers.com First Look at Savage Opress TCW Action Figure

I am not really toy collecting side of the Star Wars fan community, but I am a big fan of Savage Opress so I found this news from Sandtroopers.com to be really cool.

Ashley Eckstein's Her Universe Update: New Products and a Sale

Ashley Eckstein the actress behind Ahsoka Tano and geek girl fashion impresario, will be co-hosting Disney's Star Wars Weekends this summer.  In conjunction with this she has announced that her clothing company will be unveiling two new shirts and two previously adult shirts in kids sizes.  The shirts will be available exclusively at Disney for a limited time, presumably before becoming available on the Her Universe website.
