Heir to the Empire 20th Anniversary Edition: Annotation #13 Of Moffs and Grand Admirals

Star Wars Books on Facebook has posted the latest in the series of preview annotations to the special 20th Anniversary re-release of Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire.

Annotation #13:

"I wanted HEIR's villain to be a military leader, as opposed to a governor, Moff, or Sith. But a normal admiral seemed too commonplace. Hence, the Grand Admirals. I first ran across the title, by the way, in connection with the German navy in William L. Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich." --TZ

 Of course Mr. Zahn inadvertently started a trend where every two bit warlord in what was left of the Empire started declaring themselves, Grand Admirals, Commodores, Lord High Admiral, Grand Moff, etc.
